Job Summary

  • The Bank Reconciliation Specialist will be responsible for creating a client deposit by scanning checks to the client’s bank and organizing resulting deposits with all checks and EOBs into a package to be scanned for the posting team.

Essential Functions and Tasks

  • Obtain checks and EOBs received via US Mail.
  • Separate checks from EOBs while maintaining integrity and organization of documents.
  • Create calculator tape for total of checks to be deposited.
  • Log into bank account on designated laptop.
  • Scan checks in order of corresponding EOBs.
  • Confirm all scanned checks balance to calculator tape.
  • Create packet placing check with associated EOB for scanning to system.
  • Upload final scanned package to document management system.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Two (2) years of experience posting insurance payments in a healthcare setting.  
  • Two (2) years of experience reading insurance Explanation of Benefits (EOB) statements preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to read, understand, and apply state/federal laws, regulations, and policies.
  • Ability to communicate with diverse personalities in a tactful, mature, and professional manner.
  • Ability to remain flexible and work within a collaborative and fast paced environment.
  • Basic use of computer, telephone, internet, copier, fax, and scanner.
  • Basic touch 10 key skills.
  • Basic Math skills.
  • Understand and comply with company policies and procedures.
  • Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Strong knowledge of Outlook, Word, Excel (pivot tables), and database software skills.

Compensation

  • Base Compensation for this position: $17.50 - $20.50 Hourly 

  • Base Compensation will be based on various factors unique to each candidate including geographic location, skill set, experience, qualifications, and other job-related reasons 

  • This position is also eligible for discretionary performance bonuses in accordance with company policies
