Job Summary

  • The Document Escalation Scanner is responsible for organizing and scanning all charge and payment batches into the system for each divisional client. 

Essential Functions and Tasks

  • Mark charge batches scanned into the system
  • Scan EOBs into self, single or bulk
  • Follow established procedures for scanning and documenting
  • Check batches for correct batch name
  • Scan all batches into systems
  • Research issues and problem solving
  • Search for batches in system and move or rescan batches
  • Scan batches with EOB as priority, Corr second priority and W/O third priority
  • Remove staples, paper clips, and post it notes that might jam the scanner
  • Daily log scanned batches
  • Troubleshoot problems and errors
  • Maintain and clean equipment
  • Deliver EOBs and W.O batches to assistants to file
  • Organize completed charge batches for coding department
  • Deliver payment batches to Payment Analyst

Education and Experience Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • One year in data entry field
  • One year in medical billing preferred
  • Basic written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to make decisions in a timely fashion that are sound, accurate and supported by the reasoning and inclusion of appropriate people
  • Must be able to interact well with all kinds of people
  • Must be able to prioritize and accomplish objectives in a timely fashion
