Job Summary

  • The Payment Posting Escalation Specialist is responsible for resolving the day-to-day escalation or clarification requests, answer questions as well as assist with audits, training, and with higher level account issues.

Essential Functions and Tasks

  • Manage and resolve escalations from internal team members and client services to ensure timely and accurate completion.
  • Investigates and resolves matters that Client Success escalates from clients to resolve.
  • Research and complete special projects for Posting as requested.
  • Assist with departmental training as requested.
  • Assist with audits as requested.
  • Provide process improvement feedback to leadership.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • At least two (2) years of experience posting insurance payments in a health care setting.
  • At least one (1) year of experience in an escalation/lead role in payment posting, preferred.
  • At least two (2) years of experience reading insurance Explanation of Benefits (EOB) statements, preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Resolution driven in timely manner.
  • Knowledge of insurance payer types.
  • Knowledge of Explanation of Benefits (EOB) statements.
  • Ability to read, understand, and apply state/federal laws, regulations, and policies.
  • Ability to communicate with diverse personalities in a tactful, mature, and professional manner.
  • Ability to remain flexible and work within a collaborative and fast paced environment.
  • Basic use of computer, telephone, internet, copier, fax, and scanner.
  • Basic touch 10 key skills.
  • Basic Math skills.   
  • Understand and comply with company policies and procedures.
  • Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Strong knowledge of Outlook, Word, Excel (pivot tables), and database software skills.
